Why your current lamps aren’t cutting it
Most standard heaters rely on moving air to spread warmth. The problem? Air is lazy. It doesn’t move evenly. Our IR lamps work differently. They send heat straight to the pastry. We spend a lot of time obsessing over the wattage per inch so that the heat is the same from one end of the tray to the other. But you have to be careful. If you put a high-wattage lamp in a tiny space, you’ll scorch the tops of your treats. It’s all about finding that sweet spot where the voltage and length balance out.
The “Quick Swap” Setup
We use quartz glass for the tubes because it can handle the stress of being turned on and off all day without cracking. And don’t worry about a massive renovation. We use standard connectors, so you don’t have to rewire your entire counter. You just pull out the old, burnt-out tube and slide the new one in. Simple. If you’re working with delicate glazes that melt or burn easily, we have coated options. These soften the heat so you don’t end up “searing” your decorations.
A few honest things to keep in mind
Here is the catch: the lamp is the muscle, but your controller is the brain. If you pair a powerful IR lamp with a cheap, old-school mechanical thermostat, you’re still going to get temperature swings. You need a decent PID controller to keep things steady. Also, keep your tubes clean. Grease and humidity are the enemies here. If grime builds up on the quartz, it creates stress points that can lead to cracks. Give them a wipe-down, and they’ll last a lot longer.
